9-1-1 Public Emergency Reporting Service (PERS) - NBTel

Aliant Telecom Inc., on behalf of NBTel, announces the planned offering of interconnection between Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLECs) and NBTel’s 9-1-1 PERS for the purpose of providing 9-1-1 service to the CLECs end customers. Interconnection arrangements are expected to become available by IQ98.

Interconnection is via dedicated trunk side connections to NBTel’s Voice Network to facilitate transport of 9-1-1 calls from the CLECs end customers through NBTel’s voice network to the appropriate 9-1-1 Service Bureau, as well as via data connections to allow the updating of NBTel’s 9-1-1 PERS Data System with the pertinent CLEC end customers’ calling number and location information.

Compatibility Impact:

None expected.


The interface specifications are contained in Aliant Telecom Interface Document ATID-0004, 9-1-1 Public Emergency Reporting Service (9-1-1 PERS), Network-to-Network Interfaces Between Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLECs) and NBTel’s Network, dated September 1997.

Recipients will be billed $50 for an electronic version of interface documents.  Hard copies are also available for $65 each.  Please note that the prices are subject to change without notice.
